Over two and a half decades of work with public institutions, private companies and development organizations, the same dissonance kept appearing. Leadership teams had clear strategy and real commitment, yet performance fell short of what they intended and what their institutions deserved.

The cause was rarely the strategy, the intent or the talent. It was structural. These organizations were trying to sustain performance through systems that were never designed to reinforce one another. Portfolio, Project, People and Product were each pulling in slightly different directions, and the friction accumulated until it could no longer be ignored.

That observation became Enterprise Alignment, and the 4P Alignment Architecture™ became its framework: recognized in practice across institutions that were succeeding and institutions that were struggling, then tested and refined in the work of closing the gap between what organizations intend and what they deliver.

The emphasis belongs on the idea. Enterprise Alignment is meant to become bigger than any one author.

Taopheek Babayeju is the founder and CEO of iCentra, a global technology and business solutions company with operations in Nigeria and the United States that guides governments, development institutions and leading enterprises through complex transformation. He has led engagements with institutions including the Central Bank of Nigeria, NNPC Limited, the Nigeria Revenue Service and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

He convenes the Innovation & Technology Summit (InnTech Summit), serves on the Technical Committee of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, and previously contributed to Nigeria’s Presidential Committee on Innovation. He founded ProMaCon Africa, convener of Nigeria’s first National Project Management Conference in 2009, and the LeadPreneur platform. Through The Taopheek Babayeju Foundation he supports leadership excellence, manpower development and cultural renaissance.
